What does "Internet Explorer Script Error" mean?

I was trying to do a scan of my PC using the Onecare free safety scanner, but a message kept on coming up. At the top the message said: "Internet Explorer Script Error".

Under that it said: "An error has occurred in the script on this page."

It gave further details as follows: -

Line 2

Char 1

Error Invalid character

Code URL about blank.

Then it said: "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?"

I have tried switching off my PC and re-starting it, but nothing will get rid of these Internet Explorer error messages.

What has caused this problem, and how can I get rid of it? I haven't found any other problems with my computer yet. I'd be glad of any help. Thanks!
